This is a New Knife Maker's Edge Line Disc Scribe. The body of this scribe is made from 6061 Aluminum round bar stock. The lower section holds the 1/2"-20 threaded shaft. The upper section holds the caroffere tip and contains a locking thumb screw. It is threaded 1/2"-20 and threads up and down the shaft to change the height of the tip. Abrass thumb screw locks the selected height setting in place. The scribe uses a caroffere tipped height gage tip.This tip is held in place by opposing set screws so the tip can beperfectlyzeroed. This is a well made rugged scribe that is used the same way a height gage is used. Each rotation of the discraises the tip height .050". Height range is 0-1" high. Made in the USA in a Small New Hampshire Shop.
