This is a New Knife Maker's Edge Line Scriber. The body of this scribe is made from 1" X 3" 1018 steel round bar stockand has a 13/16" flat milled lengthwise. The cross bar is made from 1/2" X 2-1/2" 1018 steel round bar stock and has a 7/16" flat milled lengthwise. The crossbar is held in place by 1/4-20 Brass thumb screw. This thumb screw is solid brass so it will not chew up the surface of the steel crossbar when tightened down. The tungsten caroffere rods are1/8" diameter by a full 1-1/2" long solid caroffere. These rodshave been professionally ground. One caroffere rod has a perfect very sharp 60 degree point and the back end has a slight chamfer. The other caroffere rod has a flat grind which will allow the scribe to close to zero and is perfect for very thin blades. The caroffere rods are held in place in the cross bar by a solid brass thumb screw. This is a well made rugged scribe that can be used on the round or flat side of the body.
