1920s
Brand new. Digitally edited and professionally re-printed on photo stock.
From a family estate of a gentleman's collection of gay and male related photographs and ephemera. Most items are from the early to mid 20th century and includes loose photographs as well as some pictures that were cut by the owner from an antique photo album.
Digital Reprint
5"x7"" snapshot of a young man from the 1920s. He's wearing a suit and a bowler hat, and he's holding a teddy bear in his left arm. He has a very slight pink hand tinting to his cheeks and very smooth skin. He also has a very wry smile, as if he and Teddy are sharing an important secret. The young man is also wearing a ring - likely his signet ring - on the little finger of his left hand.
There's something about this photo that immediately puts me in mind of the Sebastian Flyte character from the novel Brideshead Revisited, carrying his bear Aloysious with to class.
