Vintage 1940s–1950s YMCA Summer "Y" Camp Fundraising Soap Box Set – Complete & Unused – New Old Stock

A remarkably well-preserved and highly collectible piece of mid-century YMCA history! This authentic vintage fundraising soap set dates to approximately the 1940s–1950s and was originally distributed to young YMCA camp participants to help raise money toward their summer camp experiences.

This wonderful piece of American youth organization memorabilia remains complete with its original illustrated presentation box and all four individually wrapped, unused bars of Garden Bouquet Toilet Soap.

Original Box Design & Graphics:

The charming cardboard presentation box features classic mid-century illustrations in blue and red against a cream-colored background.

  • Front displays a swimmer diving into the water and a baseball player at bat.

  • Features the original YMCA insignia and fundraising slogan: "HELP ME EARN MY WAY TO: Summer 'Y' Camp."

  • Side panels feature delightful illustrations of traditional summer camp activities, including horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, and tennis.

  • Wonderful period typography and advertising graphics capture the spirit of American youth summer camps during the 1940s and 1950s.

Original Contents:

  • Four individually wrapped bars of Garden Bouquet Toilet Soap.

  • Each bar retains its original paper wrapper featuring the YMCA insignia.

  • Reverse wrappers identify the product as "high grade French milled soap."

  • Manufactured by Manhattan Soap Co., Inc., New York.

  • All four bars remain unused in their original vintage condition for an approximately 70–80-year-old fundraising set. The original cardboard box retains its bright, attractive graphics with minimal structural wear along the edges. All four soap bars remain unused and individually wrapped, with clean, legible original packaging.

Please examine all photographs carefully for the best representation of this vintage set's condition.

    Historical & Collector's Note:

During the mid-20th century, YMCA summer camps provided generations of American children with opportunities to participate in swimming, athletics, outdoor recreation, and character-building activities.

Fundraising programs allowed young participants to sell everyday household products, including soap, to help earn money toward their summer camp expenses.

This surviving set represents a wonderful example of early youth fundraising, combining vintage commercial advertising with the history of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA).

Complete, unused fundraising sets with their original illustrated boxes and contents are particularly appealing to collectors of YMCA memorabilia, vintage advertising, summer camp history, scouting-related collectibles, and mid-century American ephemera.
