Xenophora corrugata (Reeve, 1842)
Rough Carrier Shell
A particularly interesting and exceptionally “well-dressed” example of Xenophora corrugata, displaying an impressive assortment of naturally attached stones, shell fragments and other marine material.
Carrier shells are remarkable gastropods that deliberately collect and attach surrounding objects to their shells as they grow, giving each specimen its own distinctive appearance. This South African example has especially strong character, with contrasting dark stones, pale material and recognizable shell fragments creating an unusual natural display.

Approx. overall width: 70.1 mm including attachments
