Vtg ZENITH #6T40 Trans Oceanic Portable Wave Magnet Short Wave Radio Circa 1954 For Sale

OPERABILITY-PLEASE READ:
This old zenith powers on, It will receive AM & Short Wave Broadcasts BUT ONLY
FOR ABOUT 1-4 MINUTE
BEFORE THE SIGNAL FADES OUT to static. SEE VIDEO!!! The station fades out a little slower if the back of the radio is left open so I think something is heating up and breaking down.
This Old Radio probably needs the Capacitors Replaced or what ever component is breaking down as the radio heats up.
I have Restrung the frequency indicator pointer AND IT WORKS. The pilot light behind the face is burned out. The electric cord retractor still works, the telescoping antenna is in good shape, all the band changing buttons seem to work properly. The “Dialo Map” with Station Log is included and in good shape. There is also a Users Guide that is in good shape, folded up in the users guide is an electronic Schematic that is heavily creased and brown but is readable/useable.
