Vtg Pair 2 BUDDHIST DEMON GODS Tribal Wall Hanging PAPER MACHE Masks NEPAL For Sale

Vintage/Antique Pair 2 BUDDHIST DEMON GODS Tribal Wall Hanging PAPER MACHE Ritual Masks NEPAL

Size approx. 7" long x 6.5" wide. These vary by a fraction of an inch as they are individually handmade. The white mask is slightly taller.

A genuine set of handmade, hand painted ceremonial masks from Nepal. Made from extremely thick layers of paper mache- these are so thickly constructed that they almost feel like wood.

The hand painting and detailing on these masks is superb: the expressions are very fierce, which is supposed to chase away negativity and evil.

Features raised hand molded detailing and great depth. Some gold gilding is applied to the crowns etc.

The inner surface of these masks are coated with a plaster type surface- quite smooth/not rough or splintered

See all pics & use zoom. Magnificent, Art Gallery quality. Highly collectible and unique.

Excellent condition, these are very old and so have light/normal wear for age. Some slight paint loss as is expected and normal, and the white mask has a surface crack in the paint to the right of his chin. See last pic and use zoom. No loose paint, no cracks that are unstable or 'open'. Visual only and very minor.

I have owned these masks for about 30 years and feel it's time to pass them along to another person to be treasured and appreciated. They were VERY OLD when I bought them at the time.

Beautiful pieces of Art - a stunningset for a collector.

Please note the following, dear fellow shopping enthusiasts:

I strive to give you the best service possible. I am not a dealer or professional, just a lifelong collector and enthusiast. I only list items that I think are unique and of good quality. I represent my items as accurately and clearly as I can, and believe it is always better for you to have too much information than not enough! Please ask any questions before offerding, I will happily respond.

Remember, these are vintage items and will have reasonable signs of age and wear which only adds to their personality, appeal and "funky vintage-ness". They are not in their original boxes unless noted. I do not excessively clean items or remove age patina, as I want to leave that option for the buyer.

I will promptly ship your item within1 business day and post great positive response for you once payment is received.

Go Green! I try to re-use clean, almost-new shipping boxes when possible.

I will gladly combine shipping on multiple items for you.
