Stunning Vintage 1950s Madeira Hand-Embroidered & Appliquéd Linen Placemats - Set of 8**

Add timeless elegance to your dining table with this exquisite set of 8 authentic vintage Madeira placemats. These pieces showcase a masterfully crafted sheer organdy/organza central window, framed beautifully by delicate hand-appliquéd linen trailing leaves and satin-stitched berry embroidery.

**Historical Era & Provenance:**

Dating back to the mid-20th century (circa 1950s–1960s), exquisite mixed-fabric linens like these from the island of Madeira, Portugal, were the absolute pinnacle of formal dining luxury. Highly coveted as elegant bridal trousseau items and high-end registry gifts, this specific style seamlessly blended structured fine linen with delicate, translucent organdy center panels to create a floating effect on polished wood dining tables. Finding a full matching set of 8 from this mid-century golden era intact is a true treasure.
