B.A. Maguire was a commercial illustrator active in mid-to-late 20th-century Americana art. Maguire designed a popular series of patriotic Americana lithographs distributed by the Bernard Picture Co., Inc. out of New York City. This series featured distinct early 13-star flags paired with historical items like the Liberty Bell, bald eagles, and revolutionary military drums.

Production Style: Because this signature is printed directly into the lithograph mold or plate rather than hand-signed in ink or pencil, it confirms the piece was produced as a commercial decorative print intended for wide distribution during the U.S. Bicentennial era in the 1970’s.
