Vintage Ulster Knife Co 4 Blade Scout Pocket Knife Jigged Delrin 1960s For Sale

Vintage 4-blade scout style multi-tool camp pocket knife manufactured by Ulster in the USA. This traditional American slipjoint pattern exhibits a fantastic, honest field-carried character that makes it a great addition to any military, scout, or vintage utility knife collection. The master spear point blade features a deep, two-line factory tang stamp reading "ULSTER / KNIFE USA" directly above the bolster. Based on the combination of this specific stamping style and the handle material, this knife was manufactured during the 1960s era. This represents a classic mid-century manufacturing window for Ulster as they provided highly dependable, rugged utility pocket tools for the domestic outdoor and hardware markets. The knife features dark, deeply grooved jigged Delrin composition handle scales that are completely free of any chips or cracks. The synthetic covers are tightly pinned to the brass liners with brass pins, and an unengraved football-shaped nickel silver shield is cleanly inset on the presentation side. Symmetrical, rounded nickel silver bolsters frame the handles nicely, and the frame retains its original heavy steel lanyard bail at the end. Mechanically, this knife functions properly with strong backspring tension and a sharp snap on all four implements: the master spear point blade, a combination flathead screwdriver/cap lifter, a curved can opener, and a robust leather punch/awl tool. The high-carbon steel blades have developed an honest, deep grey field patina with heavy localized dark carbon spotting, pit aging, and field sharpening wear across the profiles, but they retain solid, functional utility.
