AUTHENTIC U.S. MILITARY T-46 (M28) ARMORED VEHICLE PERISCOPE SIGHT
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, authentic U.S. Military T-46 / M28 Periscope Sight. This piece was historically mounted inside the M13 Commander’s Cupola of Cold War-era tracked armor, most notably the M48 Patton Main Battle Tank and the M59 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC). It was engineered to allow vehicle commanders to safely aim and adjust fire on a cupola-mounted .50 Caliber M2 Heavy Machine Gun from completely behind armor plate.
PROVENANCE & HISTORY:
This unit was originally acquired from APEX Gun Parts many years ago when they liquidated a cache of military surplus stocks. Because APEX hasn’t had these in stock for a very long time, finding an intact, surviving survivor with functional glass on the open market is extremely difficult.
OPTICAL CONDITION:* Looking through the eyepiece, the original ballistic targeting reticle is intact.
* Markings: Features the classic vertical crosshair with numbered range markings (4, 8, 12, 16, 20) calibrated specifically for the ballistic trajectory of a .50 cal round, alongside horizontal stadia lines for windage/deflection calculations.MECHANICAL & STRUCTURAL CONDITION:* The original red metal warning label is still attached to the collar, reading: \"Caution: Do Not Snap Coupling Arm.\"
* Includes a side cover plate access panel with slotted screws and integrated nitrogen desiccant ports used by depot mechanics to purge moisture.
* The thick, black rubber eye cushion shroud is intact and firmly attached to the ocular assembly via an \"All Stainless\" modern worm-drive hose clamp (which replaces the original internal factory retention clip but holds the pad securely).COSMETIC CONDITION:
