Vintage Tom’s Peanuts CANTILEVER Wire Store Display Basket Rack W/ Clamp Rare VG For Sale

This vintage ~1950s Tom's Snacks counter-edge display basket, an exceptionally rare piece of original advertising memorabilia from the Tom Huston Peanut Company.I have not seen its equal as most vintage Tom's Peanut snack racks are designed as standalone multi-tier countertop shelves or hanging clip strips, this specific variation features an integrated cantilever arm and under-mount adjustable C-clamp mechanism. Other brands did utilize counter edge mount mechanism however none I have found match the impressive function and boldness of this basket. The heavy-duty cast metal clamp allowed store clerks to securely bolt the wire basket directly onto the edge of general store counters, cash registers, or wooden display tables to maximize point-of-sale impulse buys. Its design is reminiscent almost of a bicycle basket crossed with a drive-in window tray. Awesome and unique. And very much still a s functional as the day it left the fabrication shop. It retains the iconic bright red metal advertising plate on the left and right faces featuring the classic cursive script logo on both sides. See pictures for condition issues with on both decals.Steel basket has minimal rust solely on the mounting hardware. The wire itself displays zero signs of rust no breaks or loose welds or sharp edges. No dents , no bends, no dings. The support arm is made from cast aluminum with steel hardware.
