Vintage German regimental-style beer stein by Theo Kühn of Burgwindheim, Bavaria, Germany. This substantial porcelain stein features highly detailed multicolor military/regimental scenes, German inscriptions and name rosters, decorative blue and gold borders, and an ornate hinged pewter lid marked ERBO ZINN. The lid is topped by a dimensional soldier finial and features a figural thumb lift.
The bottom of the interior base contains a translucent lithophane depicting a young couple/lovers. The lithophane can be observed when holding the inside of the base up to a light (as if drinking from the stein).
Measures approximately 13.25" tall overall with an approximately 4.625" diameter base with a substantial weight of 2 lb 9.8 oz.
The Burgwindheim Theo Kühn mark dates the piece to the late 20th century or later and it is offered as a reproduction-style commemorative/regimental stein rather than an original Imperial-era military stein.
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs observed. Porcelain remains bright and glossy with vivid decoration and gold accents. Pewter lid, hinge, thumb lift and soldier finial are intact, and the lovers lithophane displays beautifully when illuminated. Minimal signs of age/use. Please review photos for exact condition.
