Vintage Schumann Porcelain Trinket Holder For Sale

Here\'s a delicate and elegant little piece of German porcelain popularized by the Carl Schumann Company. My research reveals that it was popular in the post-WWII era in the mid-20th Century as an accessory to their full sets of fine porcelain china. It accompanied settings in the dining room when used as a knife-rest, tea bag rest or on a boudoir side table as a ring or trinket holder. The Lily-of-the-Valley decor was quite popular with its white center floral arrangement of lily bells surrounded by lilac colored blooms. Gold edging completes the elegant look of this piece that is free of chips, cracks, wear, scratches or flaws. The Maker\'s Mark on the reverse which includes the use of Bavaria and Germany imprints, denotes that this porcelain is from circa late 1940s-1950s.
