Vintage MCM Tan Ceramic Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern Lighting 1950s For Sale

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare pair of asymmetrical mirror image table lamps that were manufactured by Alkur. Circa \'50s. Materials: Ebonized Wood, Brass, Fiberglass. Both of the lamps come with their original assymetrical fiberglass shades that are beige in color with black and gold paint swirl designs over the exterior surface. Each lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. While the lamps do not appear to be visibly marked, there may be labels underneath the original green felt that is affixed to the underside of the rectangular bases at the bottom. These lamps are very large, and not for the faint of heart! They\'ve always sparked interest in our home, but it is now time to let them set sail to a new owner.
MEASUREMENTS: With the shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 14\" tall x 10\" wide x 4.5\" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 7.5\" high. The ceramic base measures 10\" wide x 4.5\" deep x 6\" tall. The round fiberglass shade measures 9\" in diameter x 4.25\" deep.
CONDITION: Very good condition. There is one teeny tiny fleck to the finish on the base (see photo) - negligible, but being mentioned for accuracy. Aside from that, the ceramic base is free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. It displays really well! The fiberglass shade is in great shape and has been very well taken care of - no punctures, rips, holes, tears, stains, burn marks, repairs, etc. The lacing is intact, and the shade is structurally solid.The electrical wiring is free from issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas on the wire, etc. We always recommend having a licensed professional check the wiring prior to long-term use. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition.
