Vintage MCM Brutalist Metal Cattail Wall Art Plaques Pair 3D Brass Copper 18x8 For Sale

Vintage 1970s Mid-Century Brutalist Mixed-Metal Cattail Wall Art Plaques – Matching Pair

This striking pair of vintage 1970s wall plaques beautifully bridges the gap between bold Mid-Century Brutalist design and the warm, welcoming aesthetic of classic country and lakeside living. If you are looking to bring depth, texture, and a touch of the outdoors into your home, this curated set delivers an incredible visual impact.

The focal point of each piece is a beautifully sculpted, three-dimensional mixed-metal relief. Tall, slender stalks of cattails rise gracefully alongside layered, hand-formed lily pads. The artistry relies on a wonderful contrast of metals: the brilliant, golden-yellow glow of polished brass grounds the pieces, while fiery copper-toned accents bring a rich, rustic warmth to the marsh reeds and cattail heads. This interplay of metals gives the sculptures a stunning living patina that beautifully catches both natural daylight and soft evening lamplight.

Adding to the story, one plaque features subtle, hand-painted details of birds in flight against the sky, perfectly capturing a quiet morning on the water. The metalwork is securely anchored to substantial, heavy-backed panels with elegant, arched borders and a deep, multi-toned faux wood grain texture that frames the artwork perfectly.

Dimensions & Condition:

Each plaque stands 18 inches tall and measures 7.75 inches wide. They are in remarkable vintage condition, showing excellent structural integrity with all metal welds completely intact and secure. The heavy composite backings are solid, featuring their original, factory-installed sawtooth hangers so they are ready to mount the moment they arrive. There is only very minor, age-appropriate edge wear on the outer borders, which simply authenticates their vintage journey.

Whether displayed side-by-side to flank a stone fireplace, hung vertically in a hallway, or added to a premium gallery wall in a rustic den or cabin, these pieces add immediate character and a high-end vintage vibe.
