Vintage Adlake No. 48 Railroad Padlock PAT Sept 24 1912 Lock No Key:
$37.99

Vintage Adlake No. 48 heavy-duty railroad-style padlock featuring a rounded shackle, riveted metal body and hinged ADLAKE-marked keyhole dust cover. The reverse is marked “No. 48 Lock” and “PAT. Sept. 24, 1912,” identifying it as Adlake’s No. 48 pattern. The September 24, 1912 date refers to the patent rather than necessarily the date this individual lock was Adlake No. 48 Lock.

  • Patent Marking: “PAT. Sept. 24, 1912.”

  • Construction: Heavy riveted metal body with rounded shackle and hinged keyhole cover.

  • Railroad Markings: No specific railroad initials or ownership markings are visible in the supplied photos.

  • Key: No key is included, so locking operation has not been verified.

  • Condition: Well-used vintage condition with oxidation, finish wear, scratches, scuffs, discoloration and substantial age-related patina.

    • A strong example of early-style Adlake railroad and industrial hardware with desirable No. 48 and 1912 patent markings.
