Vintage 1986 Emma Bridgewater Nautical Sailboat Mug Rare Pottery UK:
$100.00

A rare crown jewel for collectors of early British studio ceramics and classic nursery decor, this authentic vintage Emma Bridgewater child's mug dates back to the brand's premiere years in the mid-1980s.
Standing 3 inches tall, this heavy-bottomed earthenware baby cup features a charming, hand-painted primitive cobalt blue sailboat on one side. The reverse displays the traditional block-lettered sentiment "A PRESENT FOR A GOOD BOY" framed beautifully by matching hand-applied blue accent bands on the top rim and flared base.
Provenance: The underside features the incredibly rare, earliest-era hand-applied stamp reading: "BRIDGEWATER ENGLAND — DECORATED BY HAND". It is hand-initialed by the original studio decorator beneath the glaze, certifying its authenticity.
Condition: Excellent, premium vintage condition. The glaze is remarkably glossy, and the hand-painted detailing remains crisp and clear. Shows a magnificent, uniform network of fine glaze crazing consistent with 40-year-old studio pottery, which highlights its authentic vintage heritage. No chips, cracks, or restorations.
