Vintage original Tropical Lanes bowling center advertising matchbook from Inglewood, California, featuring fantastic mid-century graphics and advertising for the Kon-Tiki Room Cocktails.

The cover advertises “56 Automatic Lanes” with a large tiki figure and bamboo-style graphics. Inside is an especially nice bowling design with die-cut bowling pin imagery, ball graphics, and the slogan:

“The Southland’s Newest & Finest Bowling Center”

Also advertised are the bowling center’s amenities including a children’s nursery and outdoor play yard, billiard room, coffee shop, dining room, sport shop, and entertainment. The back includes a small period map showing its location near Century Blvd., Prairie Ave., Hawthorne Blvd., Hollywood Park and Los Angeles International Airport.

The matches are unused and remain intact, making this much more desirable than an empty cover. Excellent graphics with strong 1950s/early-1960s Southern California, bowling, cocktail lounge and tiki culture appeal.
