Vintage 1950s Nash “Flying Goddess” (Flying Lady) Hood Ornament – Excellent Condition

Iconic original 1950s Nash Flying Goddess hood ornament, designed by legendary pin-up artistGeorge Petty.

This is the classic chrome “Flying Lady” / “Flying Goddess” mascot that became one of the most recognizable and desirable automotive ornaments of the postwar era. Used on Nash Airflyte models (Ambassador and Statesman) and later available as a dealer option on Metropolitans and Ramblers, it captures pure mid-century glamour and motion — a streamlined female figure with wings, hair flowing, posed as if flying down the road.

Condition: Excellent

Beautiful original chrome finish with bright, reflective surfaces and sharp detail throughout. Shows only the lightest age-appropriate wear expected of a well-preserved original — no heavy pitting, no major dents, no broken wings or missing parts. Mounting hardware area is solid and intact. A standout example that displays exceptionally well and is ready for a collector’s shelf or a period-correct restoration.
