The side of the handle arch is clearly stamped with US Patent Number 1,979,979, which dates the production design of this tool right around late 1934.Cosmetically, this rare piece is in very nice, clean condition with a wonderful bright metal finish that shows only minor surface wear, fine scratches, and minor signs of handling consistent with its age. It has been well-preserved over the decades, completely free of heavy dents or severe corrosion.
