Vintage Halloween postcard featuring a frightened red-haired child running from an arched-back black cat. The front reads “For Hallowe’en” and includes the verse:
“Black cats go out to prowl
On this mystic night,
When they join the hooting owl
In giving us a fright!”
Artwork is signed F. Warren on the front. Reverse is marked No. 2399, 16 des. HALLOWEEN and has a divided-back postcard layout.
Card was mailed and bears a 1927 postmark with a green 1-cent Washington stamp. Handwritten message and address remain on the reverse.
Condition shows expected age-related wear, including corner and edge wear, surface soiling/discoloration, light creasing, and handling wear. Lower corners show more noticeable wear. Please review photos closely for full condition.
