VTG Paul Cardew Ltd Ed Signed 523/5000 "Classical Fireplace" Woodmanton Teapot For Sale

GORGEOUS, MINT condition vintage limited edition Paul Cardew Victorian large ceramic teapot, signed and numbered 523/5000. This teapot is titled the "Woodmanton Titan Flueback" and was patented by Paul Cardew in 1996. You can see his signature in photo #9. The teapot measures 9 1/4" in height, 12" in length and 4" in width, and weighs almost 3 pounds! It is hand painted a lovely dusty blue, with 18 kt gold embellishments throughout, including the lions and the mantle clock atop the fireplace. Even the tile work both atop the "mantle" and surrounding the fireplace are gold gilt. With its eclectic scrolled handle and long spout, it measures 12" across! It is highly glazed and certainly eye catching! This would make an amazing conversation piece for your kitchen or dining room. So few of these were made, and have survived, that the price reflects the rarity of this item. It is no longer available at replacements.com or any other site that carries Paul Cardew.
GREAT GIFT IDEA!
Master Teapot Maker is a title not everyone is worthy to hold, but Paul Cardew is certainly entitled. He is no doubt the world's best known designer and producer of novelty teapots. With his exceptional modeling skills and incredible imagination, he and his team created the most marvelous collection of amazing and intricate designs possible. Initially created in his kitchen, he converted his 19th century farmhouse in Devon, England into a complex dedicated to produce his masterpieces from start to finish. He eventually employed a substantial team of talented individuals as the business grew with such popularity. In 2008 Paul retired from being a hectically busy teapot designer, thus making all his works of art even more collectible!
