VTG Cordey Victorian Pair Man & Lady Ornate Bust Figurines Roses Lace 7.25" For Sale

Vintage 1940's Cordey (or Corday) Cybis porcelain Victorian lady and gentlemen bust figurines.
These figurines were made by Cordey China (which later evolved into the Cybis Company).
These are hand painted and feature intricate "dipped" or Dresden-style ceramic lace accents. These figurines also have gold trimmed ornate rococo-style pedestal bases and applied porcelain roses.Cordey made these "Dresden-style" lace figurines using a specialized dipped lace technique where real fabric lace was saturated with liguid porcelain and slip before being attached and fired. This is beautiful......but also very fragile, which is why many of the Cordey figurines have small areas of chipping or defects as this lace detail were thin and delicate. After the lace as attached to the figurines, these were put in the kiln for firing. The fabric lace was burned away....leaving a thin porcelain "lace". These were then hand painted and glazed.
These figures depict Victorian or 18th century styles with women wearing elaborate hats, wigs, ruffled collars and lace collars. The man is equally flamboyant with lace collar, stylish hat and over the top wig.
These are approximately 7.25 inches tall.
This is for the pair of Victorian figurines.
CONDITION:Good vintage condition. I do not see any missing roses or items but with many of the Cordey figurines I feel areas of roughness which may be original or may be small chips on the delicate areas. Please see pictures and ask if questions. This is NOT perfect - as are almost all of the Cordey figurines with the delicate lace details on these 1940's pieces. I am pricing to reflect there is most certainly small chips in the lace and these figurines are NOT perfect, but very displayable and resemble the issues of these lace dipped figurines of this era.
