After years of collecting, I’m now selling off my nearly all-Marvel comic collection, focusing on Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Hulk! This collection spans from 1975 to 2012, with issues purchased firsthand from 2003 to 2013. Whether you're looking to fill gaps in your run, revisit classic storylines, or start a new collection, these comics offer a great mix of key issues, fan-favorite arcs, and hidden gems.
The 'Nam #1–84 (1986–1993)
Marvel’s The 'Nam is a gritty, realistic war comic that chronicles the experiences of American soldiers serving in the Vietnam War, focusing on the fear, exhaustion, camaraderie, violence, and psychological toll of combat rather than traditional superhero adventures. The series begins with Private Ed Marks arriving in Vietnam in 1966 and joining the 23rd Infantry Division, where he learns the realities of military life through dangerous patrols, ambushes, tunnel searches, and encounters with the Vietnamese people caught in the conflict. Written initially by Vietnam veteran Doug Murray, with early artwork by Michael Golden and later contributions from artists including Wayne Vansant and John Severin, the series uses a near-real-time structure in which each issue generally advances the characters’ experiences by approximately one month. As the soldiers endure combat, periods of leave, the loss of friends, and difficult reunions with family, the story explores the moral ambiguities of war and the lasting effects of service on those who survive. Later issues expand the series’ scope, introduce changes in creative direction, and include appearances by Marvel characters such as the Punisher, but the central focus remains the ordinary soldiers whose lives are shaped by the conflict. Known for its documentary-style storytelling and historically grounded approach, The 'Nam stands apart from conventional war comics by emphasizing the human cost of Vietnam and the complicated experiences of the men who fought there
