Complete (36pp) and attached. Covers are split at spine from bottom to tear at bottom of staple. Cover also split top 3/4". Interior is solid. Back cover has a large surface pull where it was glued to a copy Captain Marvel Adventures. Corner blunting and general wear. See photos. These are rarely offered in ANY condition! The CGC Population Report indicates that only two of these have ever been graded, and the report does not specify which titles were graded beyond "Mighty Midget Comics 11 (1942) Back Cover Variant" (Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr, Spy Smasher, and Golden Arrow versions are known)
Background: Some copies of Captain Marvel Adventures #20, #21, and #23 had, attached to the cover, a miniature comic just like the Mighty Midget Comics #11, except that each has a full color promo ad on the back cover. Most copies were circulated without the miniature comic. These issues with miniatures attached are very rare, and should not be mistaken for copies with the similar regular Mighty Midget glued in its place. The regular Mighty Midgets had blank back covers except for a small victory stamp seal. Each miniature was only partially glued by its back cover to the Captain Marvel comic making it easy to see if it is a genuine variant Mighty Midget rather than a regular copy Mighty Midget.
This is the same as the regular Spy Smasher Mighty Midget Comics #11, except instead of a victory stamp on the back cover, there is a full color promo ad on the back cover. The Spy Smasher Mighty Midget back cover variant has been confirmed to have have been glued to the cover of Captain Marvel Adventures #21. Unconfirmed whether the Spy Smasher Mighty Midget was attached to Captain Marvel Adventures #20 or #23. Per Overstreet, these are not found in Fine - Mint condition.
