Provenance: This is an authentic, handmade iron nail used in the construction of the famous Mohammedi II, the world’s largest traditional wooden "Boom" (dhow) ever built.
History: Built in Calicut, India, in 1979, the Mohammedi II sailed to Kuwait where it became the iconic Al Boom floating restaurant at the Radisson SAS Hotel. This specific nail was sold or gifted as a commemorative souvenir by the hotel. The ship itself became a symbol of Kuwaiti heritage, surviving the 1990 invasion and multiple fires, making original construction materials like this extremely rare.
(1) Original Hand-Forged Iron Nail (approx. 5-6 inches)
(1) Original Radisson SAS Hotel Commemorative Pamphlet/Certificate of Authenticity
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The nail retains its original hand-forged patina and black scale. The paper pamphlet shows minor age-related yellowing but is fully intact and legible.
A perfect piece for collectors of Middle Eastern history, maritime enthusiasts, or those with nostalgic ties to "Old Kuwait."
