Rare Einstein Mine Silver Ore Slab - Silvermines MO - Argentiferous Galena &...:
$55.00

County, Missouri (Silver Mines Recreation Area).

This 210-gram slab offers a rare look at the unique mineralogy of the St. Francois Mountains. Sourced from the historic Einstein Mine—Missouri’s only silver mine—this piece is a must-have for regional collectors and geology enthusiasts.

Mineralogy: Features visible pockets of Argentiferous Galena (silver-bearing lead ore), known for its high silver content. The specimen also contains dark, metallic Hübnerite (a rare manganese-tungsten mineral) and greenish Chlorite accents.

Presentation: Professionally slabbed to reveal the high-contrast mineral veins within the host rock.

Dimensions: 7" x 3" x 0.25" (Approx. 210g).

Historical Significance: The Einstein Mine was first opened in the late 1800s and is famous for its unique "greisen" vein deposits. Collecting at this site is now strictly limited, making older specimens and prepared slabs like this increasingly difficult to find.
