RARE 1963 "KILL KENNEDY" Misprint Edition - The Detroit News EXTRA (Nov 22, 1963)**One of the Rarest & Most Sought-After JFK Assassination Newspapers in Existence!**
Up for grabs is an incredibly rare piece of 20th-century American history. This is a genuine, original copy of Section A from the historic Friday, November 22, 1963 "Extra" edition of The Detroit News.
**The Infamous Typo:**In the frantic, chaotic minutes immediately following the news of the shooting in Dallas, typesetting rooms rushed to get papers on the street. In their haste, editors accidentally left off the "ED" from their intended headline, printing the shocking phrase "KILL KENNEDY" instead of "KILLED KENNEDY." The press run was famously halted after roughly 5 minutes to correct the error, leaving only a tiny handful of these error editions on the street. It is estimated that fewer than 250 copies ever made it to the public.
**Condition Report:**This is an authentic vintage original printing, NOT a reproduction. It shows typical age-related tanning/browning to the newsprint paper and minor chipping/fragility along the rough out-of-bounds edges. It features the standard mid-page fold from storage. The critical headline text is crisp, dark, and highly legible. Please note there is a small, clean physical tear running horizontally through the word 'Threatened' on the left side columns (visible in close-up photos). The paper remains structurally intact and is not missing any text.
Perfect, high-end centerpiece for serious collectors of presidential memorabilia, rare misprints, or tragic American history ephemera. Ships flat, heavily reinforced with rigid cardboard to ensure total protection during transit.
