Prentiss Vise # 20 Early Swivel Jaw And Base 4 1/2” Jaw Machinist Vise Complete For Sale

Antique Prentiss 1911 patent model 20 vise with a swivel jaw and swivel base in complete and functional condition. This vise has 4 1/2 inch jaws and weighs 61 lbs. This is a very early version of this vise. The swivel jaw is not seized and the original swivel pin is included. Swivel pin can be removed easily by hand and the swivel jaw can be moved with one finger, it operates extremely well. There is some backlash in the screw and a small amount of play due to age and use, but the vise operates very smoothly. There are the usual hammer and file marks for a vise of this age. There is some chipping and hammer marks on the slide, this is shown in the photos. This vise has been disassembled, cleaned and sealed with oil. Please review all photos to assess the condition of any vintage item. Note that due to the shape of this item it may be partially disassembled for shipping. Local pickup is also available.
