This tingkal is a decorative armband for the bicep worn by warriors in ceremonial dances especially in funeral processions for those who have met accidental deaths. It is made of wild boar tusks topped with the wooden finial of a \"bulul\", the god who guards the rice crops. These are all held together by finely braided rattan bindings. The \"bulul\" also represents the ancestors of the Ifugao tribe. It is believed that that when a warrior wears the tngkal, he receives power from the ancestral spirits. This is an exceptional artifact.
