The Aran line debuted in 1965. Its name is inspired by the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland.

Evolution: Originally released with a matte black rusticated finish, it has seen multiple iterations. The current popular "smooth" version with a walnut stain was introduced in the late 1990s, with a nickel band added to the design around 2010 to improve durability.

Stamping: The "Made in Ireland" stamp on the shank identifies it as a modern era pipe produced at the Peterson factory in Dublin.
