  • The handle iscow or ox horn, beautifully fashioned into two opposing tapered sections. The natural horn coloration runs from translucent amber-brown to almost black. Rather than being a single piece drilled for the shank, the handle is made in two separate sections joined at the center.

    At that junction is brassbutton on top. It appears related to the way the two halves are secured around the steel shank.

    The steel shank is long and plain, terminating in a substantial open helix/wire worm of about seven turns, ending in a long sharp point.
