Neal White 1972 Photo of Judy Dater & Jack Welpott Vintage Gelatin Silver Print For Sale

Neal White (1947–2024) — Judy Dater and Jack Welpott, 1972

Original vintage gelatin silver photograph by San Francisco Bay Area photographer and educator Neal White, depicting friends and fellow photographers Judy Dater and Jack Welpott in a playful, informal portrait from 1972.

The photograph captures a wonderfully spontaneous moment between two influential figures in American photography. Dater and Welpott were both closely associated with the vibrant Northern California photographic community of the 1960s and 1970s, making this image an engaging document of that artistic circle.

Photographed by Neal White, himself an accomplished photographer and longtime professor of photography at San Francisco State University, the image brings together three notable figures in Bay Area photographic history.

The photograph is presented on an unusually generous warm-toned mat, with White's original pencil signature visible just beneath the lower right corner of the Neal White (1947–2024)

Condition: Vintage photograph presented on its original mat. The photograph appears well preserved in the supplied images. The mat shows minor signs of handling and age. Please examine the photographs carefully for condition and presentation.

An appealing original portrait with particular relevance to collectors of Judy Dater, Jack Welpott, Neal White, and the history of American fine art photography.
