ANTIQUE MANTLE CLOCK

Striking antique Victorian heavy black cast iron mantle clock measuring 13-1/4\" wide, 10-1/8\" tall and 5-3/4\" deep, it was made by THE ANSONIA CLOCK CO., NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as marked on the face edge. Featuring a lovely molded case with original paw feet on the front corners, it is decorated with wonderful brass stylized Eagles and graceful gold scrollwork as shown. Face is hinged with a flat glass front, a beautiful embossed gilded frame, Roman Numeral numbers, and original hands - complete with the pendulum and winding key - back bears the metal door with simple look and pin closure.

Condition is non-working - I tried to wind, but both arbors will not budge. The back interior is dusty, but nothing appears to be loose (remember, I\'m a novice about clocks). The exterior case is lovely with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage other than some scratching on the top and minor rubs and usage wear. Hoping someone can bring clock back to life - it is such a lovely case and design - wonderful addition to any collection or display!
