Vintage original AKARI lighting catalog / brochure by Isamu Noguchi, manufactured by Ozeki & Co., Ltd., Gifu, Japan.
This folding brochure contains illustrations of numerous AKARI light sculpture models with model numbers and dimensions, as well as assembly instructions in both Japanese and English.
An original AKARI hanging product tag is also included.
The tag is marked:
“AKARILight Sculpture by Isamu NoguchiMade by OZEKI & CO., LTD. GIFU”
The reverse of the tag contains Japanese biographical information about Isamu Noguchi and blank fields for Style #, Size and Price.
The brochure lists Ozeki & Co., Ltd. in Gifu as the manufacturer, together with overseas agents/distributors in the United States, France, Switzerland and Spain.
Dating:The brochure does not show a printed publication date.Based on the distributor and address information printed on the brochure, together with the older Japanese postal-code format (“Gifu, 500 Japan”), it appears to date from the 1990s, before Japan introduced its seven-digit postal code system in 1998.The exact year of publication has not been confirmed.

The AKARI tag had been stored attached to the brochure with a metal paper clip. The clip has rusted with age and has left visible rust staining on the brochure.
