Handmade pincushion made with a cotton-quilting fabric and placed in a tiny vintage glass salt cellar. The fabric has a subdued Christmas theme, with pine leaves and gold balls shown on the top. The bottom is finished nicely, with just a slight glimpse of a candy cane tied with a bow.
The glass dish is called an “Individual Salt” from the Fostoria American 2056 Line. It is featured in the Fostoria American In-Depth Review and Identification Guide by Julie Noyas, on page 94.
The interior of the pin cushion is filled with walnut shells and polyester fiber fill, and the top is finished with a sweet red button. Gold cording goes up the sides, and the color matches the gold balls in the fabric.
This is not a removeable pincushion - it is attached and glued to the glass. This would make a perfect gift for any creative Fostoria American collector or sewing enthusiast. It really looks adorable, and is most appropriate, sitting in a sewing room or anywhere that needs a little bit of vintage cheer.
Measurements are approximately 1.5\" high and 2\" across at the top. This is a \'one of a kind\' pincushion and would make a gift idea for the upcoming holidays!
