HUGE Vintage Mid-Century MEXICAN HAND CARVED Brown Wood Picture Frame

Size 39\" x 28.5\" with an inset opening for art of 32.5\" x 22.5\"

Stamped HECHO EN MEXICO [Made In Mexico] on back

Circa 1960s Midcentury style

UNUSUAL size and MAGNIFICENT hand carved detail- the frame is a work of Art in itself

2 rows of carving- outer row has deep scoops and half moon shapes, inner row is connected shapes of what appears to be logs or bamboo

Fully finished border carved moldings on outer and inner edge

Stained/painted a deep dark brown with almost black-brown detailing in shadowed areas. Woodgrain still shows through- absolutely gorgeous

A very interesting frame that would set off an Art piece to perfection.

Excellent condition to entire frame, NO fading, soiling, splits, chips, cracks, scratches, or flaking to carved wood. Hand carved and hand stained/painted in a deep brown color with darker brown [almost black] coloration inside the carvings which adds depth but still allows the wood grain to show. Frame only, no glass. See all pics and use zoom.

2 metal hooks securely attached to back to hand vertically, but they can easily be removed and re-screwed in to allow this frame to be horizontal.

These frames are getting more and more difficult to find, and a frame this size & style is almost unheard of
