Ghost Comics #5, published by Fiction House in Winter 1952. This original Golden Age pre-Code horror comic comes from the collectible Ghost Comics anthology series, known for its supernatural storytelling, eerie illustrations, and memorable horror covers.
Originally featuring a dramatic Maurice Whitman cover titled “The Hex of the Ruby Eye,” this issue contains several supernatural and suspense stories from the early 1950s, before the establishment of the Comics Code Authority.
The issue includes stories such as “Satan Owned His Soul,” “Pilot’s Revenge,” “Phantoms from the Sea,” “Second Life,” and “Count Borka’s Return.”
Contributing artists include Bill Benulis, Jack Abel, Rafael Astarita, and Lily Renée, whose work helped define the visual style of Golden Age comic books.
The photographed side displays a vintage Fiction House advertisement featuring six comic titles, including Ghost Comics, Rangers Comics, Kaanga, Jungle Comics, Jumbo Comics, and Jet Aces.
This is an original vintage publication, not a modern reproduction.
IMPORTANT: This comic is COVERLESS. Both original covers are missing, and interior completeness has not been verified. Additional missing pages are possible.
An interesting surviving example for collectors of original pre-Code horror comics, Fiction House publications, Golden Age comic artwork, and vintage supernatural storytelling.

Coverless, heavily worn, potentially incomplete Golden Age comic.
Both the original front and back covers are missing. The photograph shows an exposed interior advertising page featuring several Fiction House comic titles.
The exposed paper displays significant age-related tanning and discoloration, particularly around the outer margins. The paper has a noticeably aged brown-to-tan appearance consistent with a comic originally published in 1952.
Visible defects include considerable spine wear, edge fraying, softened corners, small tears, and irregular page edges. The left spine area exhibits visible wear and possible separation or weakness along the binding.
There is a handwritten notation near the upper-right corner of the exposed page identifying the comic as Ghost Comics #5.
Additional surface discoloration, handling wear, minor creasing, and edge damage are visible throughout the exposed page.
Despite the heavy wear, the surviving printed artwork retains recognizable coloring and readable lettering.
The interior pages have not been individually counted or inspected. The comic may contain additional missing pages, detached pages, tears, or other defects not visible in the supplied photograph.
This comic is being sold strictly as a coverless, heavily worn, potentially incomplete original Golden Age collectible. No guarantee is made regarding interior completeness.
