Full 1930\'s Physicians Sample glass tube, metal cap, Phenobarbital contents. For Sale

This is a vintage 1930\'s 3 inch long, physician\'s sample glass tube with metal cap and contents including phenobarbital and aminophylline manufactured by the G.D. Searle & Co. in Chicago. To combat the central nervous system stimulation and gastric distress caused by aminophylline, Searle formulated it with phenobarbital, an addictive and habit-forming drug but was not classified as a controlled substance at the time. This glass vial is completely full with intact product tablets inside. The physician would dispense this medication, writing patient\'s name, directions and signature on the label. This label is flag-wrapped around the glass tube, fully intact, and has minimal wear with light, age-related discoloration. This would make a very interesting addition to anyone\'s medical or pharmacy display. I will include the black display frame to help protect the item in shipping and may potentially enhance your vintage display. Don\'t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Note: Vintage medicine bottle contents are not intended for personal consumption or use, carry significant health risks and are strictlyclassified as historical collectibles, vintage display pieces, \"quack\"medicine, and considered toxic or poisonous.
