French Art Deco Chrome 12 Red Cherries Cocktail Pick Holder Set Benjamin Rabier:

You are looking at a sweet French Art Deco modern era appetizer or cocktail pick holder set. It depicts one large duck next to a small snail with its shell. The figures are most likely heavy cast aluminum with a chrome finish. There are 12 metal picks with red plastic cherries displayed in a fan fashion. The metal part sits on a wooden base. There are variations on this subject. Most are unsigned however this one is at the very front on the metal base: Benjamin Rabier, a French artist who popularized stories with animals such as ducks and snails.

The holder is 5 3/8" by 2 13/16" deep at the base and stands 4 3/8" tall without picks. These are just uner 3 1/2" long. This is a heavy set weighing over 1 1/2 pound (746 grams) before packing.

Overall excellent condition. Picks are in great condition. No pitting to the chrome. One small flake in the metal finish on the bird's tail. Very clean and ready to use or display.
