Description:

Up for sale is an authentic, vintage central medallion from the Ecuadorian National Order of Merit (Orden Nacional al Mérito). This is the loose center disc component, ideal for medal restoration, repair projects, or a specialized militaria collection display.

The obverse face is beautifully struck and crisply detailed. It displays the iconic Chimborazo volcano design beneath a radiant sun, encircled by the text "REPUBLICA DEL ECUADOR • AL MERITO". It shows a very nice, uncleaned vintage patina with deep toning around the borders.

The reverse showcases the traditional manufacturing method of the era, utilizing a hard resin/pitch filler matrix within the hollow-back struck shell to give the piece structure.
