Early 1940\'s lot of 2 Original B&W Contact Prints-Group of YoungMen & 1941 Mercury Convertible in Enumclaw, Washington
This is an offer for a lot of two, original, early 1940\'s B&W contact prints of a group of young men and a1941 Mercury convertible taken at my paternal grandparents home in Enumclaw, Washingtonstate. The lot of contact prints were in a collection of family photographs. Itappears to be taken of a group of my father\'s high school friends in theparking lot in front of my grandparents farm in Enumclaw, Washington.I estimate the photograph to be taken either in 1942 or 1943 based on the agemy father looks in the one image, well before he went into the US Navy. Myfather is the young man on the far left in the image with all the men sittinginside the 1941 Mercury. The contact prints were made from a negative (largeformat) and they appear to have been separated from the same contact sheet. Mostlikely, the contact sheet prints were made shortly after the negatives weredeveloped.
Overall, the B&W contact images are invery good condition. The corners show minimal wear and the edges are straightand smooth. Although the top image of the men sitting inside the vehicle hasthe upper right corner missing. The other image has the left side white borderfolded about one inch towards the backside. The third attached image wasadjusted with software, by decreasing contrast, to better show the fold on thebackside. The contact sheet images were not always separated evenly. However, there is plenty of white \'border\' areas around each contact image for theseller to trim and square the white borders if desired. The B&W images wereeither sepia colored toned when printed or perhaps the B&W tones have fadedsomewhat over the past several decades. Otherwise, the images are in very goodcondition. The backside of the contact prints have no writing and for the mostpart they are all clean with no significant yellowing, smudges or stains. Whatmay appear as a smudge is likely the result of the actual contact print process,in my opinion.
Please review the attached images as theseare the exact photographs the buyer shall receive.
