This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 10 x 8 inches (254x203mm).

It shows an older gentleman, identified on the reverse as Dr Barnes Wallis, seated at a drafting table. He is wearing a tweed suit, tie, and pocket square, and holds a pen or pencil in his right hand. The desk is equipped with an adjustable lamp, a small fan, and drafting tools including a set square. The background features a bookshelf filled with books and framed pictures on the wall.

The reverse has a handwritten note reading \'Dr Barnes Wallis\'. There are two stamped boxes, one reading \'Please Return T.V. Times Picture Library\' and another reading \'Copyright No........... T V Times\'.
