Vintage USAF Colonel Merle J. Lee 410th Bomb Wing Maintenance Award Plaque Set
Outstanding Deputy Commander for Maintenance award plaque presented to Colonel Merle J. Lee of the 410th Bomb Wing (Strategic Air Command, K.I. Sawyer AFB era, B-52 wing).
Key Features:
• Large polished aluminum shield plaque (~12–14” tall) with mounted detailed silver/aluminum bomb/missile model on brass plate.
• Engraved brass plaque: “COLONEL MERLE J. LEE / OUTSTANDING DEPUTY COMMANDER FOR MAINTENANCE / 410TH BOMB WING”.
• Matching brass eagle insignia on dark blue velvet/mount (U.S. military command/pilot style wings with shield & arrows).
• Small brass Chinese presentation plaque with engraved characters (appears to be a gift from Republic of China/Taiwan Air Force officer, dated 8-20-95 or similar).
• Original manila envelope addressed to “Col. Lee” with red Chinese/Taiwanese official stamps.
• Greeting card from “Susie” with personal handwritten note: “Just couldn’t forget to remember someone as nice as you!”
