For sale: Brenham pallasite part end cut with original meteorite surface. Cut surfaces polished, etched and sealed with epoxy.
Approximate dimensions: 82gm/410Ct x 4cm x 3.5cm x 1.5➡0cm thick (before epoxy). Found on my land by me and cut by me, Don I. Stimpson, Ph.D.,polished to 600 grit, etched on 3 sides, cut surfaces coated with AlumilitetmClear Cast Epoxy. If you see blue in the meteorite it is a reflection of the sky like a mirror, blue dots are reflection from camera lens, not from the spirit world 👻. Comes with my personal guarantee, 4A desiccant pack and humidity indicator card (if card does not show less than 10% humidity change desiccant) and specimen box. Note: Total specimen weight is about 85gram/425Ct (see scale picture) but there is about 2.5 grams of epoxy on the slice (epoxy can be removed with acetone). The uncut surface is the original meteorite surface.

I was asked why my etched slice looks different from other etched slices on . This is an etched Brenham stony-iron pallasite which can reveal swathingkamacite (around the peridot/olivine occasional Neumann bands & plessite. Most of the etched meteorite slices on are iron octahedrites & show anuninterruptedWidmanstättenpattern as they do not contain olivine crystals (i.e. iron vs. pallasite meteorites). In cases of metal rich Brenham specimens aIIIAB medium octahedrite pattern is displayed. Hope this helps.
For storage, even with epoxy coatings, I recommend an air tight container (desiccator) with molecular sieve 4A.Youcan also purge the air inthe container with argon to remove oxygen. Small bottles of argon are sold to preserveopened wine. Earth\'s atmosphere contains about 21% oxygen which can oxidizemeteorite green peridot to orange/red color & fracture. Or, my favorite, pull hard vacuum in the desiccator and put the slice \"back in space\". If you live in a humid area you must use a desiccator or else the specimen will rust and fall apart.
Just fyi, there is only me here, no others involved in this operation, never have been for the last 30 years. I\'m 74 and do the best I can to fill special requests. My wife and I own the Haviland Meteorite Crater and the large end of the Brenham strew field. Still enjoy polishing and etching, it\'s always fun to see that pattern when it appears. If anyone tells you that they and I are friends or that you can tell them anything you would tell me and they will \"pass it on\", well that is an old con artist trick. And if you think there are any friends in the meteorite business...thick as thieves.
Please note, due to problems with \"wheeler dealers\" and various clubs my selling policy:Block buyers who caused 2 cancellationsof unpaid order within 12 month(s).
Block buyers whose primary shippingaddress is in a location to which I don’t ship (USA only).
