Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Matchbook Set 6 Retro Travel Posters Germany For Sale

The designs feature the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn and Tiroler Zugspitzbahn, with dramatic mountain scenery, cog railway trains, skiing scenes and historic timetable graphics.

The reproduced advertisements include period designs dated:

• Winter 1935/36
• Winter 1936/37
• Summer timetable 1938
• Summer timetable 1939
• Additional Bayerische Zugspitzbahn mountain railway advertising

The images celebrate travel to the Zugspitze, Germany\'s highest mountain, and the historic mountain railway serving the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area.

Presented in the original illustrated collector box displaying all six designs on the cover. The vivid orange, blue, cream and gray graphics have wonderful Art Deco / vintage travel-poster appeal and would display beautifully with railroad, skiing or Alpine memorabilia.

Important: The dates printed on the matchbook artwork refer to the original 1930s advertisements being reproduced and should not be interpreted as the manufacturing dates of this matchbook set.

Condition is very good overall. The outer box shows some light storage/edge wear, as photographed. Please review all photos for exact condition and contents.

A fun collectible for enthusiasts of German railways, vintage travel posters, skiing, Alpine tourism, matchbook collecting/phillumeny, Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Zugspitze memorabilia.
