Late 19th-century German \"Regensburg\" style salt-glazed stoneware beer stein, featuring a beautifully detailed, high-relief molded depiction of King Gambrinus—the legendary King of Beer—sitting astride a brewing barrel and holding up a full mug. The central image is flanked by deeply carved, winding ivy leaves and vine motifs running along the body. It comes fitted with its original, tightly secured flat pewter lid, complete with an ornamental ball-and-ring thumb lift. The underside features distinctive potter\'s concentric wire marks from being cut off the wheel and a visible ring of blue cobalt accenting the base. Showing wonderful natural clay coloration, this hefty master-molded piece is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks - see pictures!
