This is an authentic, beautifully preserved antique \"The Traveling Teller\" automatic recording safe/coin bank, manufactured by The Automatic Recording Safe Co. of Chicago, U.S.A. This specific piece was distributed as a promotional savings bank by the First National Bank of Hinsdale, Illinois, and is stamped with serial number 832.Unlike many vintage banks found today, this item includes its original working key, allowing the locking mechanism to engage and release smoothly to separate the outer casing from the internal coin compartment divider.Features & Markings:

Front/Side Markings: Features slots and increments to track your savings for Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Halves, and Cents. It also features a slot labeled \"Currency\" with instructions stamped directly into the metal reading: \"Use Bill Hole In Base\".
Top Plate: Stamped with \"First National Bank, No. 832, Hinsdale, ILL.\"
