Antique Swedish timber marking axe, traditionally used in forestry to mark logs and timber.

This type of axe was used by forestry workers to stamp or mark felled timber, often to identify ownership, logging teams, districts or timber intended for a particular buyer or destination. The special shaped marking die at the back of the axe would leave an identifying impression in the wood.
